“Xin Nian Kuai Le” or Happy Chinese New Year! We at The Historic Jacob Hill Inn are happily anticipating The Year of the Horse; perhaps because this elegant animal was so much a part of this property’s History. From 1924-1943 it was known as the Jacob’s Hill Hunt with a member list that was straight out of “Who’s Who in America”. A few of the most recognized club members included: the Vanderbilt’s, Firestone’s and the Grosvenor’s.
Seekonk was always known as the country side of Providence, RI where many of the old Providence families stabled their horses. Later known as the first farm in America to breed and raise New Forest ponies.
Though changed dramatically just one valley away from the city of Providence, the past is still treasured. At this Providence Bed and Breakfast our motto for the last 20 years has been “Arrive a stranger, leave a friend”. This year Hainan Airlines will start to offer direct service from Beijing to Boston. We look forward to share our History with our new friends from China and everywhere else.
